Fabulous news about Cheryl Cole finally dumping love rat Ashley – at last she is showing him the door instead of being the doormat!

Cheryl looks great and I bet she doesn’t have skanky old makeup in her bag. I wrote the other day about my wholesale makeup spring clean and chucking out old cosmetics stock which is after its sell by date. Enough of us are still using makeup and beauty products that are already way past it without adding to problem by selling unsuspecting customers even more old stuff.

We all have our favourite trusty old lipsticks and eyeshadows that seem to last forever, right? I sure do, but I am a makeup artist so I know the risks. It’s all about bacteria breeding in old products and the ingredients losing their effectiveness. But I also know about things like cleaning makeup brushes and changing foundation sponges regularly. That’s pretty basic and it is something that everyone can do quite easily.

Sometimes it can seem like a conspiracy theory that the beauty industry uses to get us to buy more products, but you don’t need a big pile of makeup anyway. A perfectly functioning makeup bag only needs about six to eight products. Do yourself a favour and ditch all the old junk that you never probably use anyway. Treat yourself to a couple new products and revamp your look. That palette of brown eyeshadows that you have had since 1995 is boring as hell hun. Okay, rant over!
