Holidays are great but there is a point at which lolling around staring at your toenails can become boring, and the moment to go and actually see something arrives. This is also an opportunity to look a little bit more alluring than you otherwise might, lying by the pool eating your fifth Magnum of the day.
The best look for cultural moments is the “English Patient meets Indiana Jones” look – think cool elegant linen, in classic shades of white and beige with flat comfortable shoes. Wearing gladiators or other open toed sandals when exploring invites a toe-stubbing crisis, which is neither very alluring or good for your french pedicure.
Sunblock and a hat are essential for climbing ruins in the sun, and if walking in the heat makes you hot and sweaty, the whiteness in the sunblock can go some way towards muting your flushed cheeks. Alternatively go for a tinted moisturiser or an oil free foundation containing SPF if you want to look more composed for any photo opportunities that may arise.
Culture breaks are also perfect for sneaking off for beauty or spa treatments, especially if you are holidaying with likeminded souls. In the evening you can slink around looking fabulous while pretending to have visited thrilling ancient cathedrals, while you were really having a relaxing massage and facial in the local beauty parlour.
And remember, if you do not want to be without your favourite luxury beauty items on holiday, why not bring travel sized high end wholesale makeup products. Airport friendly and easy on the wallet, loads of gift with purchase (GWP) products can be sourced from the sellers listed on Cheap Slap.
