Running Away From It All

Sometimes it can feel like wholesale makeup is taking over my life. With an eBay cosmetics business and a couple of other beauty and cosmetics websites, as well as my day job and Cheap Slap as a hobby, things can get hectic at times. Luckily I love what I do, and that is what keeps me going. Even so, when I do need to get away from it all, going for a run is my favourite way to clear my head, de-stress and re-energise.

I will never be an Olympic athlete and if I can make it to the finish of the 10km charity race I am running on Mother’s Day that will be a massive achievement for me. Not long ago the only time you would ever see me running was for a bus, but I decided at the end of last year to try and get fit. I admit that was for reasons of pure vanity, as I have struggled to contain a slow but steady weight gain over the past couple of years. I never imagined that exercise might actually be enjoyable, but finally I have found something I love and now I can’t wait till clocks change so that my daughter can come with my on her bicycle in the evenings.

I suppose what I am trying to say here is that self motivation is much easier when you are having fun. If you are keen to make a little extra cash from home and are thinking of trying selling cosmetics as a side line, then you need to be realistic that there is going an element of work involved. But if you are really into makeup and beauty products anyway, it can be a lot of fun, especially if you do it with a friend. That is a good way to split the start up costs and you can also double your potential customer base if you are going to be selling makeup to family and friends.
