Prescriptives Wholesale Cosmetics

For any Presciptives fans out there, the bad news is that Estee Lauder, their parent company, is shutting down the global distribution for the brand on 31 January 2010. The good news is, this means that there will be LOTS of wholesale cosmetics deals for Prescriptives products coming up after that time.

The plan is for the company to continue in the US until stock runs out. In reality, they are likely to pull the plug way before the Prescriptives make up counters are bare, so expect some great offers in the New Year.

Just because some cheap wholesale cosmetics deals on Prescriptives items are likely, remember you do not have to go crazy and buy tons of stuff when the time comes. When deciding whether to add Prescriptives products to your stock lists, consider your customer base and which products will sell. This is an upmarket beauty brand for sure, but the reason it is closing is that there is not enough demand out there to sustain the business.

My own Prescriptives shopping list will be full of safe products with wide appeal like mascara, neutral lip colours and gloss, eye colour, cheek tint and some skincare items. I will not be buying lots of foundation shades or powder and I would not recommend that you do either. Those items are too difficult to sell on. The only people that will buy them are people who already use a certain shade, and the danger is that the ones that are left when the shutters come down are the ones that no-one wants.
