The story of Lauren Luke is great inspiration for anyone thinking of selling wholesale makeup on eBay. For those of you who have not heard of her yet, Lauren is a YouTube sensation with her makeup application videos getting millions of views.
Lauren dropped out of school as a teenager when she became pregnant. She had various dead end jobs and started selling cosmetics on eBay to earn some extra money. She also gave customers tips on how to apply the makeup, and had the idea of putting some videos on YouTube. Through the exposure she received through her videos, Lauren now has written a book, she has her own beauty column in a major newspaper, has appeared on various TV shows and to top it all off has a website selling her very own range of cosmetics!!
The purpose of this story is to illustrate how eBay can be a fantastic base for launching a makeup business. Lauren differentiated her eBay business from all the other make up sellers by offering a unique service to her customers.
For anyone thinking of starting an eBay cosmetics business, or for eBay sellers looking for tips to make their business more successful, my tips are:
1. Always provide brilliant customer service. Feedback is everything when you are starting out on eBay.
2. Do something to differentiate your business to make it diffferent from everyone else. Simple things like nice packaging or a little note to the customer do not have to be expensive but will make you stand out so that a customer returns again.
3. Think long term. You do not want to be selling on eBay forever, right? There are loads of ways you can use eBay to build a customer list for your own private business. Stay tuned to this blog and I can teach you how.
The secrets are simple, but not many people implement them, and when their eBay business is not making a fortune, most people just give up. Which is great as that means there is less competition for you!
I will be back soon with more tips for your eBay make up business, bye till then, Melissa x
