Cashing In For Christmas

I get asked a lot about when is a good time to start a cosmetics business – January/ May/ October etc. Huh?  I don’t really get that. If you’re still thinking about it you are wasting time…get started NOW! The most important thing is to take action. Really – the sooner the better. The day, week, month or year is not so important.

Even though the makeup and cosmetics industry is busy all year round, it doesn’t take a genius to work out that the busiest time of year, the Christmas holiday season, is fast approaching. To be in with a chance of making a killing in the last 3 months of the year, you need to be stocking up on wholesale cosmetics supplies now. You can make more profits in the coming period than the rest of the year put together. In fact, some sellers do not bother to sell the rest of the year because they can earn so much at Christmas.

Gift sets, perfume, and high end boxed cosmetics items are the most popular holiday products. Forget GWP (gift with purchase), tester or sample items at this time of year. Most people do not give those as gifts. You can afford to spend a little more per item on your inventory as the mark up on gift sets and the like is potentially much higher.
