I just want to quickly clear up any confusion about buying wholesale makeup and what you can expect if you are new to the beauty industry or just starting your own cosmetics business.
Wholesale means the sale of goods, usually in quantity, for the purpose of resale to consumers. So when you are buying wholesale makeup, or anything else at wholesale prices, the cost is less but you are required to buy a certain minimum quantity or minimum order value in order to avail of the wholesale price.
There is a common misconception about buying wholesale makeup that you need to buy thousands of items – for example a pallet or even a truck load, or that the minimum order value must also run into thousands. This is absolute rubbish and if a wholesaler tries to tell you otherwise then walk away.
It is possible to buy much smaller quantities (say 5 – 10 of an item) with a minimum order value of around £100 upwards, from the sellers featured on Cheap Slap. However, it actually often works out better value to spend more than this so that you can either get free shipping, or to reduce the overall shipping cost per item.
Some makeup wholesalers let you choose as little as just 1 or 3 of each cosmetics product, but they may still require that you order a total number of items or spend a certain order value. So for example, you may be required to buy at least 50 different items or spend a total of £200.
Cheap Slap is a mini wholesale directory featuring sellers of high end wholesale makeup only. You can buy brands like MAC, Benefit, Smashox and Bobbi Brown from these sellers, in small quantities and with a low minimum order value. This is perfect for someone just starting out selling cosmetics on eBay, or wanting a small selection of wholesale makeup for their own use or to sell to family and friends.
