It’s official – people are becoming more daring with their makeup regime with the use of a broad spectrum of bolder and brighter colours, glitters and pigments. The wonderful looks from the fashion makeup leaders MAC no longer seem weird or wacky, and are widely accepted as mainstream. The makeup artists at MAC and Sephora can show the girl on the street how to achieve a look at home, maintaining the fine line between classy and tacky. There are also loads of makeup application videos available online on youtube – check out Lauren Luke if you are not familiar with her already.
All this goes to give the die hard beauty and cosmetics consumer even more choice and hopefully value for money. Makeup collaborations between fashion and beauty brands (e.g. MAC and Rodarte for A/W 2010) are set to become more common place and this is a great way to match high fashion with cutting edge beauty techniques. The great news about original catwalk makeup is that it is relatively affordable for everyone to buy the exact products and replicate the look, but in any case just like the catwalk fashion, it will filter down to the high street and before you know it similar results will be achievable from the less expensive brands at a fraction of the price.
Limited edition makeup collections are also becoming more and more covetable, and there is a great market in reselling special editions. Remember that Cheap Slap members get instant access to wholesale makeup deals on a wide variety of authentic special editions from MAC, and also discontinued Prescriptives and Stila cosmetics and beauty products, at a fraction of the price available to the public.
