At the top catwalk shows this season a bare faced natural look was the buzz behind the scenes. But you can be sure this look still takes careful preparation!
The makeup artists used concealers and foundation on well moisturised and conditioned skin. Remember that models do not have perfect skin, so there is no reason that you could not achieve this look yourself at home.
You need a light weight foundation in a flawless finish that will last all day. Remember the foundation should provide you with good, but light, coverage – the problem I find with many natural foundations, or tinted moisturisers, is that they are too like real skin, so they do not hide any imperfections. An effective natural looking foundation should impriove your skin tone, and provide a healthy luminous glow, without looking thick and heavy. The objective is to look better than before – not just the same, because unless you already have flawless skin (and who does), then you are going to need some help.
Using a large brush, apply a loose translucent powder over foundation to control shine and give a longer lasting finish. Use the biggest brush you can find, and sweep the powder on lightly. If you think you need more product, build up the coverage in layers until you achieve the result you are looking for. Several light layers look a lot more natural and will give a much more polished, professional finish.
